President's Tour of the exhibition with Alastair Adams.
Alastair Adams, President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, will give an artist’s insight into some of the works in the annual portrait exhibition as he takes the tour round and will be available for questions.

Three laws of portraiture, lecture
Richard Wendorf, former Harvard Professor and Director of the American Museum, will talk on his premise that there are three laws of portraiture drawing in the works on show at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ annual exhibition.
He will be taking questions afterwards.

Portrait Demonstration by Simon Davis
Simon Davis will be working on a portrait in the gallery using his multiple photograph technique.
Simon takes his own photographs to gain an overall understanding of the sitter and uses a combination of them to gather the more complex details of the sitter’s likeness.
Simon, in his other life is the famous comic strip illustrator for a British comic called 2000AD

Inbox: A discussion on a documentary self-portrait project using mobile phones
Victoria Mapplebeck is a senior lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is also a director of creative documentary films and series for cinema, TV and the web.
Victoria will talk about her current project InBox, funded by Channel Four and Creativeworks London. This is an animated documentary, and multi-platform storytelling project, exploring the stories and memories hidden in our phone memories. InBox will explore how mobile phones have changed our ideas around communication, privacy and intimacy forever.

2pm Artists talk with Bartholomew Beal and Eleanor Watson
2.40pm Performance of extracts from Samuel Beckett's Endgame performed by Lucy Bairstow and Jessica Murrain of Theatre with Legs. This performance will comprise a 7 minute extract performed every ten minutes throughout the hour.

John Tookey will be demonstrating pastel drawing on the theme of Townscape with People in the gallery.
Workshops
A special series of Pastel Workshops for the amateur and professional artist.
£50 per day or £45 per day if booking four. To book, please email: jack.beck@btinternet.com
The workshops cover a wide range of subjects and will be tutored by members of the Pastel Society. Participants are asked to bring a packed lunch and their normal range of materials. A limited number of easels will be available on a first come, first served basis, but participants are advised to bring an easel. Drawing boards will be available. Models will be provided, but where the subject is landscape, participants are recommended to bring sketches to work from. *Early booking is advisable
