I love nature and painting. I paint to understand and learn about the world around me, in an attempt to make sense of life. To observe the essence of our surroundings by really looking, connecting and feeling. The results are wildlife paintings which record images, moments and emotions. My paintings are bright and energetic; a homage to mother nature. My aspiration is to create paintings which understand, inspire and celebrate our natural world. I want my paintings to touch your soul and make you feel good inside.
Bio
Felicity Starr (b. 1982) is a contemporary representational artist, painting in three categories, Landscape, Portrait and Still Life.
Felicity paints with the primary focus upon observation, representing the subject truthfully, without artificiality enhancing. Her realistic style is vibrant and high in energy, partly owing to her alla prima and impasto technique.
A self taught artist, painting daily on a quest to “always be learning”. Her work is heavily influenced by Realism and Impressionism, having moved to Paris in her adolescent years. The vibrant colour palette from Impressionism and the refined mark making from Realism have left a visible impact to all her work.
