Art for All | A Fundraising Auction
We, the Federation of British Artists at Mall Galleries, are pleased to announce our online fundraising auction during Frieze Week, between 9 and 16 October 2023.
Member artists of the Federation, from the following royal and national art societies, have pledged an original, specially made work of art - on an A5 postcard, or small sculpture - to be auctioned this autumn:
- Royal Society of British Artists
- Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours
-
Royal Institute of Oil Painters
-
New English Art Club
- Royal Society of Portrait Painters
- Pastel Society
- Royal Society of Marine Artists
- Society of Wildlife Artists
- Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, London's largest life drawing group
The contributing artists will be acknowledged, but the artworks will be kept anonymous until after the auction has ended to add an extra element of mystery, suspense, even surprise!
We have called the initiative "Art for All" as we expect the auction to appeal to a wide audience and because the funds raised will support Mall Galleries and the Federation of British Artists (Registered Charity 200048) as the leader in contemporary figurative art, led by artists, for all.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards supporting Mall Galleries' mission to empower artists through a not-for-profit programme of exhibitions and events, prizes and awards, with a focus on figurative art.
With bids starting from £40, this is your chance to begin or grow your art collection for a good cause and at a great price…
“On behalf of the charity’s Board of Trustees, I hope you will support our fundraising auction this autumn, which in turn will support the gallery’s annual programme. On average, this includes 20+ exhibitions, 100+ events, and £100,000 worth of prizes and awards for artists every year, plus significant residencies, bursaries, and scholarships. May I take this opportunity to thank our member artists for creating and donating their artworks, without whom the auction would not be possible.” - Clare O'Brien, CEO, Mall Galleries / Federation of British Artists
The public will be invited to bid as of 9 October, until 16 October.
Please save the date and bid generously!
