The Pastel Society Annual Exhibition 2022

Welcome to the 123rd Pastel Society Annual Exhibition with the theme of ‘Fresh Eyes’.  There were many submissions of dry medium work from all over the globe, and the best of these are on show alongside the work of our established Members.  The theme of ‘Fresh Eyes’ is an apt description of the rich variety of styles that you will experience in this exhibition.

The Pastel Society is recognised as foremost in its field, a magnet for brilliant exponents of pastel, pencil, chalk and charcoal. Pastel is an exceedingly versatile medium which brings vibrancy and vitality to artworks. Visitors can be confident of seeing a rich variety of techniques, styles and subject matters captured on our gallery's walls.

What to Expect?

  • Additional events and demonstrations by member artists throughout the exhibition.
  • All works for sale with prices starting from £300.
  • All works available through the Own Art scheme that allows for the cost to be spread, interest free, over 10 months.
  • A team of dedicated professionals to help and advise your purchase.

Watch our exhibition highlights presented by Richard Rees, President of the PS.

About the Pastel Society

The Society was founded in 1898 and its first exhibition was held in the Royal Institute in Piccadilly. Founder members and early exhibitors included Brangwyn, Degas, Rodin, Rothenstein, Whistler and G.F.Watts. There are currently over 50 members who are all professional artists living and working in this country and overseas. Membership is granted through a strict assessment of technical skill, originality, innovation and enthusiasm. The Society pursues its aims through education and example. It is currently responsible for organising exhibitions, tutorial workshops, demonstrations and lectures throughout the UK.

Sponsored by Caran D'ache – Geneve.
