St Mary’s Calne Artists I Presence of Absence
- | East Gallery
The original vision for the ‘Presence of Absence’ stemmed from reflections on the school's new Alumnae going on to their next adventures; with their work around school, yet their physical presence being elsewhere. Notions of the pupils making positive progress with their lives, using their learning, skills and understanding to add to the pantheon of knowledge and human endeavour, has a powerful, dynamic, quality.
Since then, the world has changed and the title has now evolved - to reflect on loved ones no longer with us, the absence of events, moments with family that could, should and would have happened were it not for the global pandemic.
St Mary's Calne's artists have been asked to reflect on this and contribute their insights and personal reflections in their own visual language.
