Methodology

If possible, I like people to sit for approximately four days and I do the whole thing in one go. I paint in oils on canvas and always work directly from life.

Bio

1941 Born in Northumberland, England.

1959-68 Captain in the Rifle Brigade.

1968-80 Head of the English Picture Department at Sothebys.

1980- Full-time self-taught Portrait Painter.

2002 Elected President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
