I work in oils on canvas, pastels and watercolour on acid-free watercolour paper, in ceramics. I also use sketchbooks and create wall murals. I have a traditional way of working. I always work from life and often work on several works at a time.
My inspiration comes from what I see in front of me. I work across the world and often drive for two hours until I find something that fires me up and then I will spend two days painting it. I dive straight into making work.
With watercolour I paint from pale to dark and in oils, I tint the canvas using lead-based undercoat. In the past I have used bright colours and worked on top of them, so that the hue comes through.
