Jenny Aitken RSMA

Statement

Aitken lives in Derbyshire, not far from the beautiful Peak District. She has strong family roots and connections to Cornwall and the Channel Islands, and an enduring love for the sea. Since graduation in Art & Art History from Aberystwyth in 1998, she has exhibited across the UK and beyond and won numerous awards. Aitken is also a regular contributor to The Artist Magazine, and offers online paintings courses from her own website.

Methodology

Her connections to the sea mean that Aitken's work brims with appreciation for our coastlines, as she exhibits the movement, light, and colours of the ocean she grew up with.

1997-1999 Worked as Editorial Artist on the Gazette & Herald, Wiltshire

1999 Became full-time professional artist
