Keith Bennett PS

Methodology

While Bennett works in a variety of media, and depicts an array of subjects, his paintings usually start with drawing studies often in charcoal and comprise of wet and dry pastels on an acrylic painted background. The contrast of these textures and spontaneity of application he finds very pleasing.

He asks himself what he wants to say about a subject and then portrays it to his satisfaction bringing out his emotion for it and also, where appropriate, a Sense of Place.

Bio

Bennett studied architecture at Kingston School of Art (now Kingston University) where he developed his drawing and painting skills in the Fine Art Department. He further attended courses at The Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design.

Now retired from a career in architecture that had its last fifteen years with a private practice in Winchester, he continues to paint following his first solo show in 1986.
