Statement

I am often inspired by the specific beauty of an organic form, be it a nasturtium picked form the allotment or a particularly handsome fig at the market. My way of expressing my response to these objects is through drawing and painting. The considered setting up of a Still Life is a crucial part of the process. I focus on the objects themselves, how they relate to each other and the space in which they sit. When painting I pursue the development of these relationships through constant looking, contemplating, redrawing and colour adjusting.
