Gillian Roberts RSMA

Statement

Gillian paints in oils in the English Impressionist tradition. Much of her work is done en plein air as she much enjoys depicting the world around her from direct observation. Gillian is particularly fascinated by the effect of light on the subject.

Gillian exhibits widely in Yorkshire, where she has always lived. Her work is much sought after by collectors, in particular her paintings of musicians both rehearsing and performing.

Gillian was elected to Associate Membership of the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) in 2014 and Full Membership in 2015.

Bio

Gillian lives in Yorkshire and it is from there that most of her subject matter comes. Musicians, Marine subjects, Venice and children's portraits have all been popular. Recently, Gillian has found interesting subject matter in the shipbuilding industry. 

Gillian was elected to Associate Membership of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in 2014
