Most of Michael Warren's paintings contain birds. Michael sketches in the field and these observations provide the basis of his paintings. The paintings reflect his lifelong interest in birds. (He is president of Nottinghamshire Birdwatchers).
Methodology
All of Michael's paintings are based on field sketches, drawing and studying birds in their natural habitats. Sometimes he paints in the field but more often in the studio. Michael draws with various grades of graphite pencils and paint with watercolours. He mostly usees Pro–Arte brushes with Winsor and Newton tube paints. Preferred papers are Fabriano and Arches. Michael works on one painting at a time. He has travelled for work to many European countries, all 50 American states, Africa, Australia, Micronesia, Peru, Ecuador and Israel.

1971 Elected to the Society of Wildlife Artists.
