Raymond Leech RSMA

Statement

Raymond Leech is continuously looking for something new that excites him and offers him a challenge. For many years he was what could be described as a Landscape Painter, but gradually evolved to paint seascape and marine subjects, progressing into figurative work at the seaside. Raymond now explores the more evocative dance themes depicting movement, rhythm and romance.

Methodology

Raymond mainly works in oils on canvas and board for smaller works, also in watercolour, pastel and charcoal. He paints from life using models and other references that he has gathered together over the years to build up quite a large stock of materials to dip into when he needs.

1949 Born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

1965-70 Studied Art and Design at Great Yarmouth College of Art
