Andrew has respect for the two dimensions of the picture plane are of great importance to Andrew and he attempts to tread the fine line between the figurative and abstract in order to attain this. The search for new, original and interesting images is ongoing and endless.
Methodology
Andrew paints outdoors and in the studio using oil on canvas. Many studies are made using a terracotta waxy pencil. Andrew travels the globe in search of subjects that are visually interesting and exciting.
Bio
Andrew was born in Derbyshire in 1944. He is mainly self taught by copying old masters from around the age of 12. He has exhibited at Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and held a one man show at their Upstairs Gallery.
