Statement
All of Jane Smith’s pictures start with a real life experience, a wildlife encounter, an inspiring combination of colours and movement. Also important is the connection between the animal, and the surroundings that sustain it. Jane wants to use her training as a zoologist and her love of painting to communicate with people about why wildlife matters. Jane lives on the west coast of Scotland, and most of her work is made there.
Methodology
A field sketch is always the starting point of a picture. The energy of work made in the field is then used in the studio to create screen prints.
