Francis's paintings of Walberswick, Suffolk and interiors of Parisian restaurants, and more recently his atmospheric studies of his studio interior create a lively vibrancy that has enchanted the public and buyers at each exhibition. In 2013, he was invited to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan as a War Artist by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Methodology
Colour and light have always been at the heart of the subjects that Francis is drawn to. Understanding and a familiarity that comes with a subject whether it is landscape, interiors or still life are very important to him. The more a location is understood through drawing and painting, the more possibilities make themselves available to explore visually.
