The British Plein Air Painters is a group of leading contemporary artists who share a passion for painting outdoors, in front of the subject, capturing the essence of their surroundings with freshness and energy.
There will be a wide range of styles, subjects and painting mediums on show during the week, a programme of talks and demonstrations and painting days will take place with opportunities to meet and paint with the artists.
The British Plein Air Painters held their debut exhibition in 2018. Colour and Light is their second exhibition and will showcase the latest work by 24 of the country's foremost plein air artists including several members of The Pastel Society, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Society of Marine Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and members of the Wapping Group. So, very fitting that it is held at Mall Galleries, the home of many of these societies, and recognised as the home of figurative art in the UK.
